Forum is like a place to have discussion where we can share all kind of information experience, knowledge, and idea that we have. Teachers need a forum to develop their professional development. It guide teacher to make an English Forum. From this forum we can know how teaching learning process from another countries. The goal of creating forum is professional development of the members, opportunities forum provides, demonstrate how to get the most out of forum. The tittle is about Introducing the New English Teaching Forum. It is very useful information for English teachers. As a teacher, we need a forum to make us improve. Forum also help us be active and can shares another teacher. If we look at the newest curriculum that 2013 Curriculum, it needs such kind of forum in cooperative learning strategies to share students idea. This webinar is also guide us how to conduct that forum so that we can be well-prepared before we teach our students latter on. Especially in curriculum 2013, a forum is useful for cooperative learning in class. The teacher and students share their idea. To help the forum, there is some way like seating chart tool. There are so many things to do in a forum. This webinar also guides those who will be teacher in the furutre to do in a forum, how to make a structural class like in ‘my class’ activity in Indonesia and Peru. Trough forum, we can see teaching-learning in another country.

This English Teaching Forum is an international, journal refereed by the U.S department of state for teacher of EFL. This forum is a place where the teacher over the world share their activity while teaching English in the class. I hope that our country will have this kind of forum because we need it for teach our students and because every country have a different curriculum so, Indonesia must have one. There are three goals in Introducing the new forum, those are introduce the new contents of forum, highlight professional development opportunities forum provides, and demonstrate how to get the most out of forum. In the forum we can share ideas each other so that it can increase our knowledge for example about principles and methods of language teaching. So, in my opinion forum is important to everyone especially for the teachers because forum can further their professional development.

Of course students and teachers need a place to discuss outside of class because class is not enough. The forum can be anything, like groups on Facebook, online class on Edmodo, or even websites like this. Of course teachers should also be more often to check their students' posts and give feedback. This forum also needed for students because they usually have something that they do not want to share on the conventional class so this kinds of forum is quite effective.

ReplyDeleteThis online activity (Webinar 16.5) is pretty good. It introduces FORUM to teach English to the students as the media to share the information.
As we know, a forum is very useful IF the members are active to response the information which has been shared.
I think, that it may not give any significant effects if the members are passive, so teachers should work extra hard to deal with the students' interests.
However, actually in this webinar, the forum is for teachers all over the world, so they can share anything that they want such as the problems to be discussed, new techniques, new creative learning styles, and other modern media.
For example, my teacher, Mrs. Alief Noor Farida, teaches her students using friendly manner, so her students feel comfortable and they are not affraid to ask her many questions.
If the students feel comfortable, we exactly know that they will learn better to get the knowledge.
So far, it is pretty awesome sharing. Have a good job. Thanks to webinar.
