Since the 3rd semester until now, I have been tried some applications such as Facebook and Edmodo. Edmodo is quite new for me. This application is very useful both for the students and the teachers, as well as students' parents. In Edmodo, teachers can give their students assignments and its dead line via on-line. Students have to submit their assignment by uploading their work. As I know, teacher also can upload some files, videos, audio, or others that can be the reference for the students' assignment. Teachers can assess their students and show students' grade in Edmodo directly. Not only that, but teacher also can report his/her students' grade to their parents through this application. I think through social media, both teacher and students will be more easy in doing their learning process. Thus, face to face learning process are also needed to engaged students and the teacher, but it is also wiser to use social media to encourage both students' and teacher's creativity so that there won't be any social media addiction.

ReplyDeleteI think social media such as Edmodo bring good impact for both student and teacher/lecturer. Since I am only on Edmodo until know, so I don’t know the fitures provided in the other social media. I assume that the other is almost same with Edmodo. Social Media as the tool for giving and receiving knowledge is as the sign of successfulness of technology in the education areas. Nevertheless, it can ease teaching and learning process, as a teacher we can not take for granted the using of technology as a whole in the teaching and learning process. Face to face meeting is still important to know the student’s psychology. I can say that, the using of social media in teaching and learning process can work effective if there is a section of face to face meeting.
